A MONDAY dawn fire outbreak in a residential house has sadly killed a mother and her two children.
The heartbreaking incident happened at Asuoyeboa North in the Kwadaso Municipality in the Ashanti Region.
The woman, identified as Felicia Owusu, 45, was trapped together with her two children in their room by the fire.
People in the community, including the husband of Felicia, tried to save the woman and two children but to no avail.
Within some few minutes, the blaze had roasted the mother and her children, who cried bitterly for help, which never came.
The charred bodies of the mother and two children have since been deposited in the mortuary for preservation.
Eyewitness report indicated that it was raining heavily with accompanied thunder and lightning around 1am.
Suddenly, there was a thick smoke in the nine bedroom house, which was followed by fire that spread faster.
According to them, the woman and her children, who were sleeping in the same room, were trapped by the inferno.
The husband (name not known) who was in a different room, was lucky as he escaped death by a whisker.
The agitated husband tried to save Felicia and his two children from the jaws of death but his efforts were in vain.
“The man sustained injuries from fire burns when he tried to save his wife and children”, an eye witness said.
It took the intervention of fire fighters before the blaze was eventually quenched, thereby averting more havoc.
