The dangerous inferno, according to eye witnesses reports, was said to have started around 12am on Wednesday and it consumed everything on its path within a few minutes time.

Akwasi Bonsu, a Unit Committee Member of Ampabame, confirming the heartbreaking incident, disclosed that Kofi Atta was the only one in the house during the fire outbreak.

According to him, what started the blaze was not immediately known, adding that “we only received a distress call of a house in Ampabame on fire around 12 am on Wednesday”.

Akwasi Bonsu said a sizable number of people rushed to the fire scene to support in bringing it under control “but when we reached there, the entire house has already been burnt”.

The Ampabame Unit Committee Member said fire fighters eventually managed to douse the blaze, adding that during inspection they saw Kofi Atta’s charred body in one room.

The body has since been deposited in a mortuary for preservation and autopsy as investigations to unearth what started the inferno is underway by appropriate authorities.

Meanwhile, the Ejisu MP, Kwabena Boateng, Esq, has expressed sadness about Kofi Atta’s demise and urged the bereaved family to take heart in these difficult moments.

“I’m deeply saddened to hear about the devastating fire disaster in Ampabame, which has claimed one precious life and left many others affected.

“My heartfelt condolences go out to the family of the deceased, and I pray that they find strength and comfort during this incredibly difficult time.

“In times of crisis like this, it’s essential that we come together as a community to offer love, care, and support to those affected”, the lawmaker wrote in his facebook page.
