Mr Kofi Job, a famous road contractor in Ghana has paid GHC1,000.000.00 being the equivalent of bills 213 patients owed at three hospitals in the Ashanti region.
Touring the Tafo Government Hospital as well as the Manhyia and Kumasi South Hospitals with his team that included Ministers of the Gospel on Wednesday, Mr Kofi Job together with the hospital administrators worked on the numbers that were still at the hospitals because they still owed fees at same.
In total, 213 persons were identified as owing bills at the three hospitals with some owing as high as GhC 30, 000.00 due to surgeries that had been performed pn them.
Paying with cash upon clearance from the administrators, Kofi Job physically handed over the monies to the three administrators at the health facilities.
Rationale:
Speaking to the media at the precincts of the Kumasi South Hospital at Atonsu Agogo, Mr Job flanked by her wife, Dr Esther Gyebi said having been sick before he recognises the importance of helping others to be healthy.
He noted that many die in the country’s hospitals because they are unable to pay for procedures that they are supposed to go through.
Others, he stated also die because there are no equipment to properly treat their ailments.
“I thank God for life and for aiding me to have enough money to support others who are going through tough times at the hospitals and as i promised at the hospitals i will support their retooling efforts to make the facilities more functional”, Mr Job stated.
Appreciation:
Mr Gyamfi Yeboah, Kumasi South Hospital Administrator said his outfit was grateful for the gesture by the famous contractor.
He noted that the hospital on daily basis records cases requiring high level treatment and attention.
Many of these cases, he stressed sometimes required the use of corrective procedures including surgeries to deal with.
“Just like you were briefed at Tafo and Manhyia Government Hospitals, we at Kumasi South Hospital also receive serious cases since this is officially the regional hospital in Ashanti and so we are exceedingly grateful to Mr Kofi Job Foundation for taking the bills of our patients who couldn’t pay and for promising to help us to retool to perform our functions optimally”, the Administrator stated.
