Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu, Lawyer Kwabena Boateng has presented 100 bags of cement to Ejisu Senior Secondary and Technical School.
The gesture is to enable the school complete the ongoing construction of a fence around same.
Speaking to the media after a brief presentations ceremony, Hon Boateng said he decided to support the ongoing infrastructure development in the school.
“As a beneficiary of education, my priority since becoming MP for Ejisu has been to use resources i gather to support school infrastructure projects including the construction of classrooms and computer libraries so that teaching and learning could be enjoyed by both tutors and learners at all levels”, the MP stated.
Commitment:
The Ejisu legislator noted that his plan is to support all Junior and Senior High Schools to upgrade their statuses in terms of infrastructure and learning aids.
He stressed that education thrives when authorities are able to provide conducive environments for teaching and learning.
The school infrastructure and retooling initiative, the MP explained is to make students enjoy classroom work as well as improve upon their IT skills.
“It is important that as stakeholders in education some of us who have been given leading roles do our best to support the schools with the right kind of infrastructure and items for teaching and learning so that we can get positive outcomes during examinations”, the MP stated.
Appreciation:
Headmistress of the School, Mrs Mavis Asamani thanked the MP for the gesture.
She noted that the school have had to deal with the driving away of stray animals that find their way onto the premises during teaching and learning hours.
Other unscrupulous people, she narrated, at odd hours use the compound of the school to embark on all manner of activities including smoking and loitering..
“We are grateful to Hon Kwabena Boateng for his kindness to us and as we plan to celebrate our 35th anniversary as a school we call on past students and others to support us to construct fitting staff bungalows so we can keep most of our tutors on campus to guide students in their learning exercises”, the Headmistress stated.
