The tussle between Kumasi City authorities and deviant commercial drivers is not ending yet.
Until these recalcitrant do the needful, authorities are not relenting in their efforts to crack the whip.
A fresh press release issued by the Public Relations Unit of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) is warning commercial drivers who are still charging unapproved transport fares to stop henceforth or risk their wrath.
It is on record that on May 25, this year, the KMA issued similar press release warning drivers to desist from charging unapproved transport fares.
Commercial vehicles were impounded, and drivers were fined ranging from 500 to 800 cedis where about 202 vehicles were impounded.
In a release issued on Monday 28, 2025, the KMA has warned that, any commercial driver found charging unapproved transport fares will be prosecuted.
It added that, the police and city guards will be deployed in roads to ensure compliance of the directive.
It therefore advised the commercial drivers and the public to bear with them as the ensure law and order on roads within the metropolis.
