Ibrahim Yamba Nelson Issaka, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South East, led a hot chase against illegal miners at Biemso No. 1 on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

Acting on reliable information, the DCE and his security task force swiftly raided the site, destroying shelters, equipment, and other belongings of the galamseyers.

Though no arrests were made, it was reported that Chinese and local individuals were among the miners who fled the scene.

The DCE remains committed to cracking down on illegal mining to protect the land for farming and other sustainable uses.

He has therefore warned illegal miners to stay away from destroying the land, urging those interested to mine to acquire licenses and engage in responsible mining.
