Mr Kwadwo Nsafoah Poku, an Energy expert and Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged the party’s communications wing to arm itself with the right kind of Information at all times so they can speak to matters very well in public.
Addressing a training workshop for NPP Communicators in the Ashanti Region, Mr Poku encouraged the participants to read more on subjects or topics they are invited to discuss.
This, he noted would make the public take them seriously and would want to listen to them every time.
“I believe the modern day party communicator should be someone who studies to know his way out on issues and is able to discuss his or her points on the basis of having adequate knowledge on subjects”, Mr Poku stated.
Preparations:
Mr Poku appealed to the Communicators to take time to prepare themselves before appearing on media spaces to discuss matters.
He noted that those who take time to learn about subjects to be discussed fare well on the shows they appear on.
The Energy expert said when one is really prepared for a show it becomes evident through the information the person puts out there.
“As NPP Communicators let us go out there and discuss issues with full confidence knowing that we have studied the subjects so that the public and Ghanaians in general can continue to take us serious for what we do”, Mr Poku stressed.
Director of Communications:
Speaking to the media after addressing the participants earlier, Mr Paul Kwabena Yandoh, Ashanti Regional Director of Communications for the NPP said the training for his subordinates was important to the party.
He noted that as the 2024 elections draw near the party’s communications wing should appear on programs and platforms with the right kind of information.
Apart from the NPP having a solid record in government, Mr Yandoh said it was critical that the party’s communications wing steps out with the right and appropriate information as the 2024 general elections draw near.
“This training was put together to sharpen the skills of our wing so that we can effectively propagate our programs and policies on the platforms we get to speak on”, Mr Yandoh stated.
