The leadership of the Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC) presented essential food items to members of the Ghana Blind Union (GBU) in the Ashanti Region on Friday morning.
This act of generosity is an annual tradition by the charismatic church, intended to ensure that members of the Union have provisions to celebrate the upcoming Christmas festivities.
CCC’s Commitment:
During a brief presentation held on the church premises, Reverend Jacob Seth Dadson, the ceremonial Pastor at CCC, delivered the food items to the Blind Union’s leadership on behalf of the General Overseer, Reverend Ransford Obeng.
“CCC, through our General Overseer, is deeply committed to the welfare of all people, including both our congregation members and those outside the church,” Pastor Dadson stated.
He added that, “this particular gesture aims to help our sight-challenged relatives enjoy a pleasant Christmas with their families.”
Outreach:
Pastor Dadson further explained that CCC’s mission is to provide both spiritual and material comfort to people.
As a mission-focused organization, the church regularly makes special donations to assist the needy and vulnerable in society.
He disclosed that the church has maintained a long-term commitment to the Blind Union, having donated white canes to support their mobility and welfare for more than five years.
“CCC remains dedicated to fostering the spiritual and physical growth of people, including its members and other groups like the Blind Union, whose lives we strive to make less burdensome,” he affirmed.
Gratitude and Appeal:
Mr. Abdel Basit Hamidan, Chairman of the Ashanti Regional branch of the GBU, expressed his sincere gratitude to CCC for their profound generosity.
“We commend the leadership of CCC for their non-discriminatory support of the Union, which comprises people of diverse faiths, yet they consistently support us every year,” Mr. Hamidan remarked.
On his part, Ivan Heathcote Fumador, Coordinator for the Blind Union, appealed to the church to maintain their vital support by continuing to donate white canes.
“CCC has been incredibly generous to us, providing the Union with approximately 500 white canes over more than five years. Since our Union has about 6,000 members, we plead that they continue this support to ensure all our members can own a cane to aid their movements,” Mr. Fumador appealed.
