Bibiani Gold Stars has won their first premier league title after thrashed Accra Lions by 4 goals to nothing at Dun’s Park in Bibiani on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
They won the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League with 63 points after 34 matches.
Prior to their 34th GPL fixture against Accra Lions, the Head Coach of Gold Stars, Frimpong Manso, had promised to win the league title for their fans who have been supportive of the historic feat in the annals of the club.
On Sunday, the expectant fans of Gold Stars filled Dun’s Park with rapturous and thunderous cheers to motivate the playing body and technical team to deliver the win right from the blast of the whistle.
Well-determined Gold Stars reciprocated the massive support from their fans with a scintillating performance, thrashing their visitors by 4-0 to end the season.
After the match, overly joyful fans took to the streets of Bibiani to celebrate their historic premier league title in style.
Gold Stars joined the GPL in 2021 and has been impressive.
They placed 10th in the 2021/2022 season, fifth in 2022/23, and 11th in the 2023/2024 season.
Hearts of Lions placed second with 60 points on the league log after their 0-2 victory against Nations FC at Abrankese.
Nations FC are third with 60 points on the league log, though their fate is yet to be decided by the GFA after walking off the pitch for alleged unfair officiating against Basake Holy Stars at Anyinase last week.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC finished fourth after losing 3-1 to Vision FC in Tema.
Accra Lions, Legon Cities, and Nsoatreman SC have been relegated.
