Bekwaime Community Gets Private Medical Center…As Hundreds Attend Commissioning.

Two siblings, Benjamin Paa Kwasi Asare and Ernestina Dufie Asare who are residents at the Bekwaime Community in the Atwima Kwanwoma District have commissioned a private clinic for the area.

The duo, joined by some traditional authorities as well as other stakeholders including the district director of health services and community members on Saturday,but but dedicated the newly constructed edifice to God.

Named as “MyCare Medical Center” the clinic has spaces for Out-Patient Department (OPD), laboratory, pharmacy, maternity and other emergency services.

The facility also has male, female as well as children wards.

There are rooms for Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) services, Family Planning, Eye Care and ART services.

Health Services Director:

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Mr Simon Asare Mireku, Atwima Kwanwoma Director of Health services commended the siblings and their relatives for putting up the Clinic.

He said the facility would give the residents and the community members the opportunity to access care whenever there is the need.

He advised staff and workers who would be recruited and employed at the facility to give off their best so that the people can get quality service.

“It is gratifying to note that rather than thinking of themselves, these siblings and their relatives decided to put up this Clinic to enable other residents to access care at every point in their life with ease”, the Director commended.

Chief Executive Officer:

Speaking to this reporter, Mr Benjamin Paa Kwasi Asare said having relocated to live at Bekwaime Community, the siblings assessed the health situation of the residents and decided to work on a plan.

He noted that they decided to put up a Clinic so that they as well as other residents who live in the Bekwaime Community could access care anytime they needed same.

“We are grateful to God Almighty for granting us good thoughts and ideas to put up this Clinic and we are sure that if people need care they can easily and readily get same here”.

Assembly Member:

The Assembly Member for the Bekwaime/Kyekyewere Electoral Area, Hon Jacob Frimpong commended the siblings for setting up a Clinic.

He noted that the facility would serve the people very well since they earlier had to trek long distances to access care anytime they needed to.

Bekwaime Community Leader:

Representing the Bekwaime Queen mother, Nana Kwabena Asamoah Boahene thanked the Asare family for deciding to build a Clinic for the community.

He urged other well to do persons in Bekwaime to contribute their quota to the development of the area.

Free Screening:

Scored of residents took advantage of the free medical screening exercise to test to know their health conditions.

Some tested for Malaria, High Blood Pressure, Sugar levels, diabetes and others.

Additionally many took the advantage to renew their NHIS status and others also enrolled on the health scheme and got their cards instantly.
