Dr. Bawumia donated ¢200,000 and 1,000 bags of cement to support the victims, expressing his deepest condolences and sympathy. He also promised to support traders in regaining their losses.

Dr. Bawumia’s visit coincided with that of chiefs and members of the Kumasi Traditional Council (KTC), led by Achemfour Asafo Boakye Agyemang Bonsu, chief of Kumasi-Asafo and Asanteman Akwamuhene, who is holding the fort for Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, currently abroad.

The fire victims thanked Dr. Bawumia and the chiefs for responding to their plight, assuring them that the donation would be used for its intended purpose.

Meanwhile, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly’s (KMA) Works Department conducted structural integrity tests on the affected buildings, pending an official report.
