Less than 1 minute

Bantama Market women and men couldn’t agree more with Jim Rohn, who said, “Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live,” when they stepped up for breast cancer and prostate screening on Friday, October 24, 2025.

The health screening and awareness campaigns formed part of Pink Month celebrations in Kumasi, were organized by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) in partnership with the Rotary Club of Kumasi Premier International and MediLab Diagnosis Services.

The free health screening with consultation services began at 10 am and ended around 4:45 pm, benefiting many traders and passersby.

A similar event was held at Asafo Market on Thursday, with an impressive turnout.

Health officials and sponsors emphasized the importance of screening for breast and prostate cancer, noting that early detection makes treatment easier.

Mr. Jones Kani, Senior Budget Analyst and representative of the Metro Coordinating Director of KMA, said the Assembly prioritises the health needs of its inhabitants and thanked partners and traders for their support.

The Secretary of the Rotary Club of Kumasi Premier International, Madam Bisola Sefiat, emphasized the Club’s commitment to improving community health through service and awareness creation.

She urged traders to make regular health checks a habit, noting that “early detection is key to defeating breast cancer and related illnesses”.
