Information gathered at Bosome Freho constituency office at Asiwa indicates that some assigns reported to be working for the national organiser of the NPP and one Asafo Agyei Ayeh, a contestant in the upcoming Parliamentary primary in the constituency have connived to alter the album for Saturday’s poll.
Speaking to this reporter on anonymity, an officer at the constituency office said they realised that there was a strange album at the office in addition to the one the constituency used for the recently held presidential election.
He said they have noticed the difference and would not allow anyone to manipulate Saturday’s polls.
“We are determined to ensure free and fair election at Bosome Freho and so we will not allow anyone whose imterest is to subvert the will of the people to have his or her way. We therefore appeal to our flag-bearer, Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia to take note and caution “, the officer noted.
Questioned Identity:
Earlier this month, founding member of the NPP, Mr Gyamih filed a case at the courts to challenge the eligibility of this same Asfo Agyei Ayeh who is seeking to change the voter album.
In the suit, the founding father appealed to the courts to disqualify Ayeh on grounds that he does not hail from the constituency.
The suit also noted that the contestant, Ayeh for the last ten years has not been resident in the constituency.
The plaintiff additionally asked the court to disqualify Ayeh on grounds that he hasn’t nurtured the Bosome Freho constituency for the last two years as stipulated in the NPP constitution and regulations governing its internal elections.
Tension:
1Currently there is simmering tension at the Bosome Freho constituency.
This is as a result of the failure of the vetting committee to disqualify persons whose backgrounds do not show as hailing from the famous constituency.
At the time of filing this report, the disgraced former DCE, Yaw Danso was alleged to be recruiting some strange persons to forment trouble in these last days to the parliamentary primary.
He is on record to have said that he will ensure he does everything to prevent the incumbent MP, Hon Akwasi Darko Boateng from being retained at Saturday’s polls at Asiwa.
