KYEREMEH OPPONG Daniel (KOD), a presidential hopeful for the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), has donated street lights to the local NUGS of the University of Mines and Technology (Umat).
The donation worth thousands of cedis, was made to help curb criminal activities on the Umat satellite campus due to poor illumination.
KOD presented the street light to Nana Sarfo, the local NUGS president, and Rashid Kwaku Duah, the Director of Communications of Umat.
The donation is part of KOD’s projects as he promises to addressing students’ welfare challenges and to make NUGS tangible on every campus.

Representative of UMAT, Sarfo Peter commemded the aspirant for the gesture.
He noted that the lights will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the student community.
“It is an excellent example of how individuals can contribute to society and help make a positive change”, he said.
He encouraged the NUGS President hopeful to keep at his good works and prayed that he wins the upcoming election.

Speaking to this reporter, KOD as the aspirant is fondly referred to, noted that the donation was a commitment to improve visibility at some university campuses.
He stressed part of his plans was to help solve a lot of welfare issues on the various university campuses.
The hardworking aspirant promised to do more when given the nod.
“I am committed to using resources at my disposal to better the lot of students on campus and just as I have been receiving support from people I will use same into helping deal with welfare issues on university campuses when I become NUGS President”, KOD stated.
