This visit was part of their preparations for the crucial match, considered prudent for the spiritual wellbeing of the club.

Kotoko’s head coach, Karim Zito Kabutey, introduced the playing body to the most powerful Ghanaian Islamic cleric and requested his blessings.

The National Chief Imam prayed for the club, asking for divine favour and victory over the Moroccan giants.

The Porcupine Warriors’ management and players have been working tirelessly and remain committed to beating WAC and advancing to the next stage of the competition.

For the records, on December 8, 2002, WAC lost 2-1 to Kotoko in Kumasi but went on to win the African Cup Winners’ Cup, having won at their home by a goal to nothing.
