The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has set August 31, 2025, as the date on which Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Bibiani Gold Stars will battle for the 2025 Champion of Champions trophy.
Although the football governing body of Ghana has not officially announced the venue for the match, this match will surprisingly coincide with the Porcupine Warriors’ 90th anniversary.
The clash of the titans will be a one-off fixture in accordance with Article 9 of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) Regulations and will mark a ceremonial kickoff of the 2025/26 GPL season.
Golden Stars won the 2024/25 GPL, while Asante Kotoko were crowned champions of the FA Cup last Sunday.
Last year, FC Samartex 1996, former league winners, piped FA Cup winners Nsoatreman FC 1-0 at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa to lift the Champion of Champions trophy.
