IN A move to enhance quality education, Hon Pearl Patricia Ankrah, Afigya Kwabre South District Chief Executive (DCE), has handed over 800 dual desks to the district directorate of education.
The fit-for-purpose dual desks were presented to Mr David Akomea Asokwa, District Director of Education, by the DCE on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the forecourt of the district assembly administration block.
In her address, the DCE underscored the need to equip schools with adequate furniture to improve teaching and learning.
She hinted that education is a prioritized area under her leadership and urged stakeholders to complement her efforts to make education better than before.
She further hinted that the furniture is being purchased in batches, assuring schools in need that they will have to wait for their turn for supply.
The District Director of Education thanked the DCE, the district assembly, and the government for championing quality education.
He promised, on behalf of the beneficiary schools, to make good use of the furniture to prolong their use.
Present at the brief ceremony to hand over the furniture were the District Coordinating Director, Mrs Yvonne Naboo, assembly members, headteachers, and heads of department.
