The Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi fondly known ‘King Zuba’, on behalf of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has appealed to the Muslim community to stay pure, pursue peace, and work diligently for the good of the region and beyond.
In a brief tribute to Muslims in the region at a grand durbar to mark the Eid-ul-Fitr at Central Mosque, Kumasi, on March 20, 2026, the Regional Minister’s representative urged them to remain righteous, peace-loving, focused, and spirit-led in their endeavors after the 30 days of fasting.
The durbar was graced by Baffour Kogyawoasu Ababio, Otumfuo Sumankwahene, a representative of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, heads of security services, heads of government institutions, and zongo chiefs in the region.
Shaikh Zakaria Abdul Rahman, Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, congratulated Muslims on a successful Ramadan, hoping that their supplications before God (Allah) would be heard and granted.
He prayed for the good of the region and Ghana, and added his voice to calls for Muslims to live with good examples in society.
