Dr Mahamodu Bawumia, Vice-President of the Republic and flag-bearer of the NPP has assured batches of nurses and health assistants who are yet to be posted to remain hopeful to secure postings early next year.
Dr Bawumia said plans were advanced to recruit 70, 000 of these trained persons to work at Agenda 111 hospitals across Ghana.
Speaking at various constituencies in the Ashanti region during his campaign tour, Dr Bawumia said he was aware that many trained nurses were at home at the moment having finished their training and waiting to be posted.
“I have worked as a by day labourer and taxi driver before and so i know how important it is to get employment after training. So my plan is to recruit 70, 000 out of these trained nurses and health assistants immediately the Agenda 111 hospitals are completed early next year” Dr Bawumia assured.
Digital Skills:
The NPP flag-bearer also assured the youth who have completed both senior secondary and university the availability of some employment opportunities in the area of digitilisation.
Dr Bawumia stated that the next NPP government plans to train one million youth in the area of digital skills so they could become employable and work anywhere in the world.
He said the plan is to train at least 5, 000 of these youth in every constituency.
“We need our youth to become the best in the world and so we plan to train 1 million to acquire digital skills so they can be functional while in Ghana and secure digital jobs across the”, Dr Bawumia intimated.
Religious Pilgrimage:
Dr Bawumia also noted the significance of prayer in the affairs of the state.
He stated that while Muslims get the chance to travel to Mecca during Hajj, Christian Pastors and leaders would also be assisted by his administration to secure slots to travel to Israel to observe the ancient city and have real experiences as narrated in the Bible.
Other Incentives:
Dr Bawumia furthermore promised to provide incentive packages for religious organisations to contribute their quota to the development of the country.
He said as a person he sees these religious groups as having the same classification as other development partners from abroad.
Dr Bawumia therefore noted that he plans to allow these religious to take goods and equipment they import or are sent them for projects free of charge from the ports.
