Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC has unveiled nine players to strengthen its squad.
The new signings include Hubert Gyau, former Berekum Chelsea midfielder, Francis Acquah, former Bechem United left-back, Johnson Oppong Owusu, former Dreams FC winger, Fuseini Zackaria, former Berekum Chelsea central defender, and Aziz Haruna Dari, former Bechem United goalkeeper.
The rest are Seth Kwadwo, former Bechem United midfielder, Joseph Amoah, former Legon Cities FC midfielder, Hilary Adabo, former FC Samartex 1996 defensive midfielder, and Phillip Amoh, former New Edubiase FC winger.
The player were unveiled in Kumasi during the relaunch of Kotoko’s FABU Census on Sunday July 20, 2025 .
A source close to the technical department hinted at further additions to the squad, described as “strategic” by officials.
The signings come after the exit of several players, including Kwesi Asante, Frederick Asare, Michael Kyei Dwamena, Adrian Adjetey, Wisdom Bassey, Samson Eduku, and Justice Blay.
Meanwhile, players like Joseph Ablorh, Isaac Mintah, Samuel Tenedu, Andrews Ntim Manu, and Emmanuel Kotei are nursing various injuries.
Kotoko’s head coach, Abdul Karim Zito Kabutey, has promised to lead the club to success in both domestic and African competitions, hence the need to strengthen the squad.
Reports suggest he plans to work with a maximum of 30 players next season.
