A MALE adult has been shot dead at Asawase, in the Asokore Mampong Municipality, in the Ashanti Region.
The name of the dead man is not known. He was said to have been shot on the main Otec FM road around 3pm on Friday.
Reports suggests the man had finished eating and he was heading to his car when two people on a motorbike shot him.
The unknown killers, including the motor rider and a pillion rider, sped from the crime scene after the shooting to escape arrest.
According to reports, residents of Asawase, who are living in total fear, have linked the man’s death to the Bawku crisis.
First shooting
This latest death has increased to two, the number of people who have been shot dead in Asawase within three days.
The Kusasi Chief of Ashanti Region, Sarki Malik Azimbe, was also shot dead in a similar fashion on Tuesday evening.
The late traditional leader was also standing in front of his house, when four people on two motorbikes, shot him dead.
No arrest has been made in connection with the chief’s death, which has also been linked with the Bawku issue.
Denase shooting
Meanwhile, two people including a driver and a Mamprusi man, one Abiola, were shot dead on Friday morning.
Abiola was traveling on a commercial vehicle, when gunmen ambushed the car at Denase and shot him and the driver.
Surprisingly, after shooting Abiola and the driver, the gunmen vanished into thin air without taking anything from the car.
Although the gunmen strategically targeted Abiola, other people in the car got injured and they have been hospitalized.
The injured people were rushed to a nearby medical facility at Offinso and they are said to be responding to treatment.
The police are yet to comment on the shooting but rumours suggested it may have been triggered by the Bawku issue.
